i found this "watch" on the german timedesign
website in the summer of 2006
i placed an order, but got an email that it was out of stock
i had the option of canceling or getting one when they came back into stock
i went for the latter, "it'll come as a nice xmas surprise" i joked
5 months later, it did just that
i'd forgotten about it
it's more of a sundial, basically
there's an inner ring which has a hole in it
you turn this ring to match the month on the outside
then hold the watch up, so the sun shines through the hole
leaving a bright spot on the inside, by the relevant hour
for this to work, you need the sun, of course ....
