casio watch camera - WQV-1

i got this on the 9th of november 2000.
it can store 100, 120x120 pixel, 16 greyscale images.
it's probably the best gadget i've ever bought.

casio watch camera - WQV-10

casio brought out this colour version of the watch in the winter of 2001.
mine arrived around new year's day.
it's just like the wqv-1, but it takes colour photos on a colour screen.
this one takes 176 pixel x 144 pixel images, about 60 of them.

after 2 months of colour watch pics, i've reverted to black and white.
the wqv-10 would only let me take 2 pictures, before shutting itself down.
i got it repaired, it had a worldwide warranty.
unfortunately, it went wrong again. so, i replaced it....

l'espion

this tiny camera was only £40, but proved to be quite rubbish.
note "viewfinder"

blink

the blink seemed to be an improved mini camera.
it was the same price as the l'espion, but better resolution.
it's biggest failing was not having flash memory.
which means, if the battery runs out, you lose your photos.
it looked almost identical to the snap, below....

snap

the snap is the successor to the blink, but it's still not flash memory.
i lost 50-odd photos, i took in london, when i must have knocked the battery compartment ...

fuji slimshot

now this camera was much better than the snap / blink. it has flash memory and looks cool.
it's also very thin, reliable.
it did die, at which point i did a deal with lee and got his.
the only drawback is the exposed lens and the inherent flexibility of it's design.

logitech - 130

i got this camera because it's more robust and the lens is protected.
it was very reliable and went with me to new zealand.
unfortunately, i dropped it onto the pavement at te anau in new zealand, it wasn't right afterwards.
the fact i replaced it with the same model, when i got back, says something about it.

sony - dsc-u50

there wasn't really any good reason for buying this camera, other than techno lust.
and it is a very desirable device. it's feels solid, as though it's completely packed with stuff.
in may 2006, 2 years after buying it, it died. it had chalked up 9,858 photos.
